When a card is linkable, it implies that the card may be utilised directly on a merchant's website, obviating the need to traverse a proxy server to obfuscate the user's IP address or location. This renders the carding process more direct and less prone to activating fraud detection systems.
Several elements contribute to a card's linkability:
- Specific BINs are renowned for possessing less robust security measures, thereby rendering cards bearing those BINs more susceptible to being linkable.
- Certain card issuers maintain less stringent security protocols, rendering their cards more vulnerable.
- Particular card varieties, such as prepaid cards or gift cards, may possess fewer security attributes, thereby facilitating their targeting for carding purposes.
